Received a seed-stage startup offer. Company does hardware but my position is mostly software. Location: Remote-US Base: 190K Bonus: 10K Equity: No equity. Recruiter said equity decisions will be made by the board in September. Current Role & TC: L4 2024 TC @ current $SNAP: ~280K, 2025 would be much better > 400K PhD (with thesis super-relevant to the startup and 30% relevant to my current role), 2 YOE Not really sure how to evaluate this offer. The no equity part seems a bit odd... . Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. #offers #startup
No equity while working at a startup is crazy. Snap all day
Holy shit, the balls on these people
No equity at offer stage is weird. I wouldn’t accept without equity in writing with vesting. 190k base as a midlevel remote is great base for a seed stage company. Confusing offer but no red flags.
Snap sucks ass, I’d take almost anything else, but no equity for a startup is hilarious.
Snap sucks big time but no equity is a red flag. And regular comp is much lower.
