$10 million is the new $1 million
Recently got an offer as mid level AWS software engineer at State Farm. But I have heard that the company is doing mass layoffs in its IT department or rebadge to HCL, now I am kinda worried that I will end up in same fate. Can someone provide some insight to how likely I could be impacted if I join? Thanks #tech #statefarm #hcltechnologies
I think the HCL was a while ago. It happened right when I transitioned to a new area
Per recent townhalls, there are no plans to expand our use of HCL. By and large, most of our HCL use is first/second level tech support and legacy mainframe work. The rebadging happened in early 2023.
yeah I do see one software engineer in Blind who posted in August said they are rebadged
Yeah, some other smaller areas got swept up in it. But AWS work wasn't significantly impacted since it's a big push right now.
What are the offer number
Offer TC? Our director said the chance of us rebadging to HCL is “pretty much none”
It is like 110K, are you also a AWS software engineer?
I’m not but most teams have one, some teams are entirely AWS During September’s ET town hall the CTO said the same thing, no plans of any more rebadging YOE?
Please provide TC and YOE. 110k tc is a low ball.
I was 2 yoe and was offered a mid level AWS sde position. Any red flag or risk?
That a standard offer at statefarm with yoe, there are people with 4yoe earning a little lesser than that.
I was rebadged last march to HCL from ET. I was also curious if there'd be another wave. Most of the people who rebadged with me already quit. 135k TC
Are you still with HCL and the TC is the same since rebadging?
Are you also an AWS software engineer? I just want to know if those role will be impacted?
HCL rebadging is done. The likelihood of future layoffs is incredibly low. State Farm didn’t salary chase in 2022 and 2023 for the exact reason other companies find themselves today.
What makes you think it's done? Didn't they fire a lot of other externals because they went all in with HCL tech?
Because that’s what I’ve been told by people well connected to that area. I mean everything is with a grain of salt, but I’ve even heard we’re sliming down our usage of HCL.
That was a while ago, unsure of future layoffs
