Stats phd job offers

Have a couple of job offers I’m considering- vote on the best one! Option 1: pharma company, large workload, fancy title, 250k tc + rsu + stock options, 25 days vacation a year Option 2: startup data science, 12 days vacation a year, option to have direct reports, 200k a year, no stock option Option 3: neither / keep interviewing I have phd in statistics from top 10 university, 7+ years of subsequent experience as data scientist including 5+ years of ( informal ) leadership experience

Aim for “data scientist” at one of those Faangs

Aim for research scientist or applied scientist. Data scientists roles are mostly analytics now

Yeah those are low offers for PhD with experience. I have a BA + less yoe with higher tc. Keep interviewing

What level at G? Looking at paydata internally 250k is high l4

Could probably get L5. L5 can be >300. I’m there from stock appreciation otherwise around 250 at L4.

Should consider G, DS at google are mostly PhD in stats, only at G.
