Currently at a late stage Series I company that is about to go public in the next 2 years. This is my first tech job and I've been working as an SWE(Mobile) there for a year. Over the next year, our company is growing by 50%, and as time goes on my manager has told me that I'll likely be fast tracked to a Senior SWE position. Comp is amazing, WLB is amazing, but however I find my work to be boring. I've been offered a Meta position, comp is relatively the same. I'll have the opportunity to work on more interesting things, but I wonder if being @ such a large company will hinder my professional growth. So I ask the age old question, should I stick with the late stage startup, get promoted, and leave after the IPO? Or jump ship to Meta. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts. #engineering #software #software #swe #career #meta #ios
If comp is the same why not stay for the upside when it goes public?
You misspelled downside
Which Series I company dude? Are we suppose to guess this and then give you our opinion??
I would stick where you are. With the global war, large tech companies will be heavily exposed on the stock market which account for 50% of meta package. Also, meta is a giant Machine where your visibility will be limited. but if you do not like job move on.. happiness first because money can vanish anytime...
Why is your current job boring and why do you think meta would be more exciting?
