Early in my career, around 2 yoe. TT Stats: Base 148k, bonuses up to 25% for good performance, sign on 32k (would have to return roughly half of it, since stayed for less than a year), RSU after a year (not sure how much, but no more than 10k for the first year). I'd have to move to a HCOL area soon, since they are switching to hybrid. WLB is not great, average 50-55 hours per week + monthly on calls spanning over the weekends (7 days per month) and the expectation to fix things overnight if something goes wrong (happened only twice and it was a 10 min fix, but still unpleasant). Overall, it is manageable for some time, but doesn't leave a lot of time outside of work. MongoDB Stats: Base 128k, no performance bonuses, 15k sign-on (could probably be negotiated a bit higher), around 20k stocks for the first year. The position is permanently remote, and I live (and would probably stay) in a MCOL area. The team seemed nice and friendly, and the engineers told me that WLB is very good in their team + no on-calls. Do you think I should take MongoDB offer or move to a HCOL area and finish my first year at TT and then start looking elsewhere?
There are most definitely performance based bonuses at MongoDB
Avoid MongoDB if you can. Very political organization
Unlike all other organizations where personal ambition isn't real and politics are virtually non-existent🙄 p.s. I don't even disagree but it's not as if MongoDB is *particularly* political
Work in a respectable company for a change, than one that's making the general public stupid
