Still Waiting for Google Offer
I made it past Google's hiring committee and exec approval for a L4 SWE position 2 days ago. My recruiter called me and gave me the news and said he was given the go ahead to extend an offer. He asked me how much I'd like in compensation and after I told him he said that my numbers were very reasonable and shouldn't be a problem. He sent me a brochure on Google's employee benefits and said he'd let me know once the offer letter was ready. I was hoping to hear back this week, but Friday is over and no word. Does anyone know if it would be normal to wait this long just to get the offer drawn up with everything else done? Are there any more secret or extra committees or sign offs that I could be waiting on? My total hiring process has been like 3 months now.

Lol, that's what I keep hearing. I asked for 240 TC in Austin, TX and the recruiter said that shouldn't be a problem, but I'm guessing that doesn't mean anything since he doesn't get to decide the offer.
What numbers did you ask for?
I just posted them above on another comment. 240 TC in Austin, TX. I have 5 yoe and a MS in CS from a top 10 CS program. I also did really well on my interviews. So I'm hoping that's a doable number.

In my case Friday Recruiter asked my expectation and next Tuesday I had initial offer.

That's not something I can be rejected at though is it? I guess I should have asked my recruiter for more info, but I thought that at this point I was guaranteed to receive an offer of some kind.
It just takes time to go through
