I have been given 97 stock units but there is no mention of price at which it will be given. After checking with recruiter he told me this is as usual in offer letter. First year price as discussed over the call is 3343. Going forward 15 % stock appreciation calculated in the price vesting.#tech
It’s better to have a number than the dollar value. When I joined AWS I was given stocks at 1600 and then the value of the stocks went down in the 3 weeks before I joined and I was really sad but then when it started to go up it was obviously joy. However when I joined G they said I will get stocks for X dollar amounts. When I negotiated the stocks, between then and the time they were awarded the stock was up by 15% so I really lost a lot of stocks (not the dollar value). So each has its own pros and cons.
Ok thank you!
The stock price for grants is set by the board of directors. Everyone joing that month will have the same price. The HR can’t set that, nor can they make a commitment, nor can the deviate on that price. They can only change the number of shares.
Why do you care about the price it was awarded at? The number is more important
Lmao, imagine if Bezos reads this thread and calls up the rest of the board to split Amazon stock 1000:1 just to fuck OP
For Microsoft it was mentioned that the number of units will be awarded as per next month price after I join
