Crap! Update: Back home safe and sound. Learnt a few couple new things today. In case anybody’s interested in knowing, here’s what happened: 1) I was low on fuel and it’s an insanely hot day in Boston. 2) turns out in these conditions, fuel tends to vaporize and build up pressure within the tank. 3) this increase in pressure for some reason cuts off supply of fuel to the engine causing a condition called “vapor lock”. 4) if you unscrew the fuel cap, you’ll hear a “ssshhhhhhh” sound, that’s all the built up pressure releasing. 5) the emptier your fuel tank is, the more room the fumes have to expand within the tank. 6) adding more fuel resolves this condition. Lessons learnt: 1) always make sure you have enough fuel. Duh! 2) always call the cops first because there are certain sections of the highways where AAA is not permitted to operate and all cities have DOT tow trucks available to tow you out free of charge if you’re in bottleneck sensitive areas of the highway. 3) always pull in the clutch as an instinct if you experience engine failure while on the road to prevent wheel lock up 4) be safe, always.
Do motorcycles have roadside assistance
They do. I just didn’t think of getting it. Lesson learned
AAA premium
Did you not check the gauge or something
Update: tow truck just arrived
On the tow truck:
How does that happen?
Just died man.. worst possible spot. On a fucking over bridge.
That’s what u get for not going with the japs
Tow truck? Why not just grab a taxi and go get some gas?
Turns out it’s not gas.. engine failure. Taking it to the Harley dealership now.
Sell the HD, get a real price of machinery instead of a nostalgia
Is this Seattle ?
Looks like Boston
Yeah man, Boston, I-93 north
Rear wheel lock up or nah?
No dude.. clutched it once the engine died.. I was on the interstate and a lock up would have been horrible
Thumbs up
How did you survive the heat? How long did you have to wait?
Total wait time about 1:30 hrs. Heat was terrible but I pulled through. Tow truck guy was super nice and pulled into a gas station to get some soda to rehydrate.
