I’ve got a couple first round HR interviews from my 30-40 applications to US companies lately. At the end of the interview, I’ve been told by the recruiters that they will pass my resume to the hiring manager, and I assume that’s a sign of No. I sensed that the recruiters became less interested when they heard I need to work under TN visa. Any strategies to overcome this, any hope in this market to get a U.S. job as a Canadian citizen? Thanks in advance! Senior SW 10 yoe
Do you put your real location or do you put a location close to the job posting? For example for Bay Area you might put a Palo Alto location
I put my real location on resume. I am not sure how to get a Bay Area address. I did choose no sponsorship is needed on the application form. But the recruiters asked immigration status on first round recruiter phone call.
I see, I used my real address as well. I did get a few interviews last year but this year not a single one
Why TN and why not H1B if GC is your ultimate goal ?
Cuz a lot of companies don’t want to sponsor H1B cuz it’s a lottery. TN is more guaranteed for the employer and it’s faster
What if you already have i140 and just have to transfer H1B ?
Should one mention visa type on resume to get traction?

Peaceful Protest Hasn’t Worked and Has Been Met With Aggression.
A lot of companies are not familiar with the TN type of visa. One thing that helped me a lot was saying it's a straightforward process for the company and easy than an h1. Also, the market has a slowdown on the USA
