I've been under massive stress due to my team and some other reasons. I've been trying to deal with it by going to talking to my partner, therapeutic sessions, massages, and psychologist session. However lately I'm getting kind of "addicted" to Asian massages. I'm spending a lot of money on these lately and the bills( especially massages) are going on thousands each month. I don't wanna quit uber and miss out on learning. What're your recommendations? Please keep trolls away.
Serious. Masturbate. It's a great stress reliever and a heck of a lot cheaper than an Asian massage parlor. :/
I tried but didn't feel the same :/
Wow, that is a very detailed response. Thanks for that. It is indeed a very compelling reason for me to reflect on my motivation. Pretty much like very other person in Silicon Valley, I've overcomed so many challenges to get here but Uber is a different beast. Thanks for your words, I got this!
Cannabis.
It will ruin your brain and kill your motivation. Don't listen to Microsoft Nutella.
Hmm I disagree on this one as a rule of thumb. It depends on whether you are likely to get addicted. Blow off steam on the weekend with a few hits, you're probably ok. But smoke that shit regularly and it's going to kill your performance and get you RIFed. Which won't help your stress at all.
hmmm if you are still having the issues from work even right now with uber 2.0, I'd suggest finding other opportunities outside. uber is not worth for you. work is just a work.
Sorry to say but Uber 2.0 is a myth for me so far. I got bumped salary and a good perf review but the work culture has a long way to go. There's no change in work pressure. I hope to find peace soon!
switch team. we all know that all team are short engineers. switching team is super easier.
Have you talked to your EM about your work stress levels? That's the first thing I would do. I'm am EM and this is precisely what we are asked to do. You have options to transfer teams as well.
Smoke weed
I take it you are on the cyber sec team? They have been recruiting massively lately. I wonder if it is rewarding to move into it.
No idea. Sorry
You all need to ask yourself if all that money and rsu's is worth it
1. Meditation, even 10 minutes a day 2. Exercise, preferably cardio, 30 mins 3-4 days a week
Thank you. I'll try these :)
