Here's a few reasons why I think stripe IPO is coming soon (probably 2021) 1. Internal source mentions new CFO hire 2. Recent shift to prioritize security and reliability (probably for audits when taking company public) 3. Apparently they just had their best financial quarter by far, despite covid 4. Speculation here, but private RSUs expire in 5-7 years of holding without liquidity event. Given how early stripe started with RSUs they should be wary of these deadlines before employees get mad 5. Fintech market is doing really well, especially in the payments space (sq, PayPal, Adyen) #tech #stripe #ipo
Is this new CFO comes from AWS? An AWS VP recently left to Stripe
Oh?๐ฒ
Weโre going public!?
Re: #3. Every quarter in a growing company is the best quarter ever. Doesnโt point to an IPO one way or the other.
I doubt so
Hopefully so I can invest
Is there an upside of joining this late? They _probably_ wonโt do more rounds.
IPO could have some upside
Thereโs a big upside to joining now. Our RSUs are currently priced based on the September 2019 funding round. The market has moved hugely since then (look at SQ for comparison). So you get to buy in now at 2019 prices.
