High performers, how often do you have slack off days?
how much do these write downs matter compared to say an internal 409A or a down raise? this is an investor in stripe / instacart and they’re valuing the company at a lower price, but not clear that’s how the companies themselves or the market more broadly value them at this price. it is the latest data point but not clear on the impact.
I’m no capital allocator but look at WeWork. Their valuation peaked at 47B and was slashed to 10B and subsequently let-go a sizable portion of their workforce.
that was an internal valuation tho right? and a bit of a different situation since their IPO was imminent and then they pulled out
What’s the new valuation? I didn’t see it for Stripe.
That’s a huge write down
