How’s capitalism going?
I hated the bug squash round, but mine was in python. They had me fix a bug in a http library , I don’t think anyone could have figured that out. The interviewer himself wasn’t helpful in anyway.
Most people don’t solve the Python bug squash. I’ve given it dozens of times; my gut tells me that under <10% of candidates can crack the Python bug squash. But then it’s not winner take all. You don’t get extra credit for finding the bug, and you aren’t dinged for not finding it. You do get credit for showing independent debugging capability. Use a debugger, get yourself unstuck, don’t go down rabbit holes. Finding the bug is a secondary objective.
