I recently received a NG SWE offer from StubHub (150k base, 400k RSU / 4 years) and would like to hear from current engineers on what it’s like working there. Why have so many ex-FAANG joined in the past 1-2 years? Is an IPO on the horizon? TC: 0

Ex FAANG joining no tier company - won’t read into it much. Just the laid off surplus trying to pay bills. eBay got a bunch, didn’t stay more than a year ( surprised! ) Stubhub was part of eBay and their engineering is worse than eBay’s
They're joining stubhub because the base salary is pretty much unbeatable. The stubhub engineering post merger is pretty good. There's no original stubhub/ebay code left.
Echo that - StubHub attracts people who were either fired or laid off from tier one companies and couldn’t get offers from better places. Even their CTO was shown at the door at TradeDesk and brought a bunch of his cronies with him. Base is high, chance of being fired is also high and chance of IPO is low. Also even if IPO happens who will buy their stock? It’s not exactly a hot startup, so the moment they IPO stock will tank because everybody’s going to dump their shares.
