The job market is absolutely brutal right now
https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/9391903/sukhinder-singh-cassidy-exits-stubhub-restructure-job-cuts cuts made across all levels and functions
wAs eNgiNeErInG iMpaCtEd?
Nah.. only assembly/sales peeps
Every department was impacted
I would’ve left the company in April, goodness 67% of staff? Smh. Live Events are gonna’ be hard to restructure without the virus gone.
Crazy and so unfortunate!! I remember a manager there telling me they wanted to "overhire" even if there was not enough work. Some resources my network of ppl who were impacted: refsy.io (engineering only) rooftop candor (for whos hiring)
Refsy.io was super helpful, got a few referrals
Hoping the best for you. eBay got really lucky with selling Stubhub just before Coronavirus
How is this funny? Bad humor, bad taste.
It is sad
I’m surprised anyone’s surprised. Stubhub has been a hot mess with failed LT for years. Of course this is the outcome.
President.... Head of HR... CTO... CMO... CFO... Some key directors, both chiefs of staff... And then about 200 or so more across the board. Essentially everyone who was originally furloughed are now permanently laid off. A few were asked back. Some who were not of furloughed were laid off. There isn’t much left at the company. Just people who are making the final push to move from the legacy data center to GCP and migrate off legacy Ebay tech. And the basic analytics and finance and accounting functions. It has been a slow motion collapse. Eric Baker and his ego bit off more than they could chew. VGG didn’t heed the warning signs.
Given that no events with fans is anywhere remotely on the horizon, I don't see how they will survive as a company. Even then, once events start up what is the likelihood that the primary market will sell out, assuming people are reluctant to attend crowded events after Covid.
OP, Where did yo find the 67% number? According to LinkedIn, stubhub has has 1500 employees.
We had 3 layoffs this year. From 1500 down to 250
Holy cow, sorry to hear that. DM me in case you need help with Amazon referral.
That is just unkind and unnecessary
Let's report so this guy gets banned
