How often does StubHub do performance reviews, and how often does the stack ranking happen? It seems like this incident was pretty alarming: https://www.teamblind.com/post/Stubhub-layoffs-YpbC4Oc1 Is there a forced bottom distribution that gets placed on PIP/fired? Anyone here that also worked at amazon/meta/other company with high perf expectations and PIP/firing and then went to stubhub? How did the expectations compare for you? Being at a hire/fire place in this economy is not a good thing thats why I am curious TC: 0 (laid off) yoe: 5
Wow one incident is pretty alarming.. with that mindset, I don't think you'll survive at SH. Please don't join and regret
Do u work there?
Yes I joined last year
Being this scared about pip probably means you won’t survive here
it is ptsd from previous places
Dude you've been posting about this for a long time. Performance at stubhub is not much different than at google or other places. Only difference is that you don't have to compile your own perf packet at stubhub. Stubhub is quicker to fire than companies like Google, but its only if it's just clear that the person isn't a good fit
How can they figure that out so quickly though? Sorry for posting a lot, I'm just really worried :/
You dont have to appologize for posting a lot, its perfectly fine. Look overall, you are expected to perform well at stubhub. Its not a place you can go and just do nothing for months. Stubhub is also not going to hold your hand for a long time. Onboarding is 1-2 weeks and you are expected to start completing your starter tasks by week 3-6 depending on the starter tasks. In terms of how stubhub figures out if youre a good fit or not - that really depends on the individual manager. As part of the interviewing, you will be able to speak to potential managers once you get to that step, or at least you can request to. Feel them out, ask how the process for new hires is on their team.
