I’m about to join Walmart Labs as a senior software engineer. Any advice on how to make a positive impact quickly?
@Amazon, any reasons ? Or just trolling?
A bit of both tbh. Walmart as a company is doing well, but Walmart Labs is all 3-tier Indians. I don't have a problem with Indians (my wife is an Indian), but the real issue is 3-tier. They all talk in their native language publicly, and aren't professional. It's very easy to feel alienated in such an environment. A lot of politics, and the only way to succeed is if you are an Indian and belong to a certain region in India (or speak a language called Telugu). Source: Used to work there, quit in 5 months.
That sucks. Must be a bad team. Doesn’t mean entire labs is bad.
Do you mind sharing your onsite interview experience ?
Met with 4 people in 3 hours, back to back. First was with hiring manager, second was technical round with Java basics questions + standard data structures and algorithms questions, third was design round and last was again data structures and algorithms round. Questions were mostly leetcode easy to medium.
How soon did they get back after the onsite ?
Did you end up joining?
