I know you’ve heard this story before but just wanted to ask fellow blinders if anyone here has been able to successfully get an offer at Google on the 4th onsite attempt? My history with Google: I interviewed in college a couple times and once recently with 3 yoe. I was told 4 out of 5 interviewers were supportive (2 of them extremely high ratings) but when the 5th interviewer feedback was submitted, the hiring committee ended up rejecting me. The recruiter did point out that they spent an unusually long time on my application in HC and it was a tough decision (said they didn’t ask me hard enough questions 😂). So I was wondering if this means I won’t be able to apply in the future and meaningfully expect an offer and would love to hear your stories :) Thank you in advance for your replies!
I actually think Google is very good at letting people try, especially when they see the potential. I passed the interviews when I was in college for the internship, but the team match didn't happen after a month and so I went with another company. (Which I completely regret) A year later I interviewed again with Google and got rejected at the onsite. The third time again at the onsite. Now it's the fourth time this year and they sent me directly to the onsite (no phone screen) and that was because (based on what the recruiter said) the feedback was strong enough to skip the phone screen. Although I got rejected twice already, I actually had a really good experience with them and would apply next year if I get rejected this time again.
Don't get rejected this time. Give it your best shot 💪 you know what you have to do
There’s no hard rule. It’s really up the recruiter that decides to reach out to you.
I guess my question was more from the standpoint of the Hiring Committee. Would it count against you to have done this 2/3 times in the past?
I heard that you can onsite for each role up to 3 times like 3 times for L3, 3 times for L4, etc. But I'm not sure, I cleared it on my first try.
and then you got an offer from AT&T
Yes I passed 2 weeks ago
