Have been at Splunk for sometime. Am at senior level and have experience with lot of good projects at Splunk. Hope to keep getting good projects. But here is the catch it is a toxic place with cult like culture (check Glassdoor review). Credit always goes to some specific set of people. Over the years the stock refresh seems to be going down but may be still good. Probably get a promotion in the next 6-8 months. So my question is should I start interviewing or continue working? Very confused.
Sounds like Uber.. If you can take shit and not brake, why not try here?
Cash flow will go down which in my situation will not work for me.
We have WMWare cult here, they worship eachother. Their chief rabbi is our CTO. WMWare is downsizing and Uber is upsizing, we set up shop right middle of WMWare campus to make transitions less painful as possible.
@ITgeek - are you still there at Splunk?
Why do you ask? Is IBM buying Splunk, then I will leave Splunk too.
yes, start interviewing for other companies. Just don't quit your job until you find a good place to leave!
Thanks. So you think it is not worth waiting/trying for the promotion and then switching?
you'll have to look at opportunity costs. Working at new company vs getting a promotion. Which will make you happier? Also would getting promotion rlly worth it if you'll be working in toxic environment? Also to your question, waiting for promotion then switching also make sense but what's the point of switching jobs right after promotion? You'll likely to stay there longer with your promotion..!
