Was looking to make offer for Sunnyvale home but this news make me think again. Is this one off or these incidents are trending up there? https://www.google.com/amp/s/abc7news.com/amp/sunnyvale-robbery-snatch-and-grab-caught-on-video/6877304/

When would tech job market come back to pre-pandemic level?
It could have been worse. Lessons I learnt 1. Don’t walk around wearing gold ornaments 2. If you are being mugged give away what you got and don’t try to resist 3. Don’t leave your toddler in middle of the road
The city should install face recognition cameras on street, so it can detect most of the suspects. We should learn this from China Gun is not an option, who are going to bring a gun for the whole day. It’s stupid. Many people even think the cell phone is too heavy in the pocket
this is story of mostly every city in bay area now a days except very few rich areas. police’s hands are kinda tied with so much politics and change in laws by state govt and criminals don’t care as most of charges goes under misdemeanor.
The robbery aside, the kid in the stroller could have crashed into a car!! That is terrifying.
mom should have never left the kid. i think she didnt realized with the sudden thing and try to approach robber with basic human instincts, later realizing she left kid alone.
Freaked by one isolated incident? You can always choose to be armed!!
Not in evil California. If you shoot a robber threatening your life you will go to jail longer than the robber.
God forbid the robber is... how do you say... of color.
This is common in birdland
The reason it made it to the news is because that area is really safe. Meawhile there could be shootings in Oakland everyday and it wont make it to the news.
Holy shit, can this be total grounds to whip out my rifle and shoot them for fear of immediate threat to life? Or only during the split second window period (think matrix bullet scene) when you are allowed to due to lame CA laws?
You should check next door posts if you can. Other than a lot of crime related news and occasional old people sticking to rules and trying to get sarcastic and smart with younger crowd you won't see much .
Specifically the Sunnyvale middle school area
Sunnyvale is a pretty safe area, you'll likely be fine.
Yup exactly you nailed it CA prop 47 passed in 2014.
What exactly is that? Too lazy to google it.
