Homeowners, have you ever thought about switching from a single family house to a condo? So, that you do not have to deal with maintenance, garden work, and etc.
Seems silly to buy an apartment.
My wife and I have a 106 yo nearly 4000 sq ft house we've been remodeling on and off for 15 years. With our kids being 18 and 20 it wont be too long before we're looking for something considerably smaller. Probably a condo.
I’m thinking about downsizing right now it the math doesn’t make sense.
I went from owning a few condos to owning a house. I prefer the house for the reasons below: 1) HOA or condo fees costs jus as much, if not more, than paying someone to do maintenance or your own house 2) There’s always Nosy/loud neighbors in condos. Can’t replace the privacy of the house 3) Condo/HOA rules are very restrictive as what ine can do within his/her own private property These may be “small issues” at first, but they become really annoying and frustrating over time
My wife is really loud so unless I have soundproof walls house it is 😊
Because she screams at you to do a better job in the sack? 😲😲😲
Only if you knew my friend... Only if you knew....
It all depends on where you are in life, priorities etc. I initially lived in a SFD. I travel a lot, hate the outdoors etc. So, I moved into a downtown condo for 12 years. LOVED it. Grew older. Family needed a gathering point. So I moved last year back into a SFD. Maintenance contract for snow/yard/landscape in place. I do t miss doing that work. I’m loving it, largely because of the size and acreage. First Thanksgiving and Christmas this year for the extended fam. Everyone gets their bedroom. I never had issues at the condo. Nice neighbors. It was great having someone there to sign for packages etc too.
Tf is a sfd?
Single family dwelling
Condos are the best. You get a feeling of community with your neighbors. You can be a part of the HOA and bring positive changes to your community. We also celebrate all festivals together. Plus it is much cheaper and less worrisome to get maintenance issues addressed through a common property management. With a big house it becomes a full time job to just maintain it all the time. It just takes too much time and money and leaves you so exhausted. I would rather spend my time and money elsewhere than in home maintenance projects.
Some townhomes HOA cover the cost of water (obviously for a price) but in the end you won’t have to maintain your back and front yards.
No, much rather do or pay for maintenance than deal with a neighbors or an hoa.
