I work in ML. I have a PhD (not fully ML focused) and several publications. I was thinking of switching from Tech to Finance. I have 1 YOE and I'm looking for roles and companies that can pay > 350K. I don't care about WLB. Can you please suggest a few roles and companies? I was thinking Citadel, HRT, DE Shaw, Jane Street. Can you name more? I think I could be a good fit for Quant Research and AI/ML positions. Are there any other roles that I should also consider? TC: ~ 230K (after stock drop) YOE: 1
I second finding a good headhunter. Even my dumbass gets headhunted on a weekly basis by all these quant firms for 350k+ roles. With your credentials, they’ll be fighting to get you. I would focus on prepping for interviews now since resume screen won’t be a problem
Do you have have some good resources to recommend for math/stats, probability and brain teasers for preparation? For coding, I'm planning to use LC.
Add Two Sigma, Point 72, Millennium and SIG
They can.
Actually none of them, except maybe (big maybe) for sig
Everyone will pay >350k. Most will pay >600k. At Cit myself.
are you a quant at Cit?
I’m a SWE

People who like Modi, are you okay with your country’s leader using words like “infiltrators” for a community?
PDT, old mission, headlands tech, jump trading, DRW, IMC. Your best bet is to find a good headhunter (open your LinkedIn and set location to nyc or Chicago and they will find you in a day).
Thanks a lot for the advice and for the names of the companies!
Not imc, unlikely for DRW Never heard of old mission
