Been at Microsoft for two years. While I’ve done some things I’m proud of a lot of it was maintenance and unimpressive. I’m interviewing for Amazon in a couple weeks but I’m worried my boot camp background and experience at Microsoft will get me kicked out as I begin. Advice, how to prepare for the interview and job is appreciated. TC: 🥜 ~ 160k Seattle Area
You’re worried about making it through Amazon? Amazon has a much lower bar than MSFT.
I think he is worried about post joining
Amazon like MSFT is a big company, each org, culture inside the org, the work, everything is going to different from one another, some good some bad. Your interview experience is also going to reflect the same, so I suggest meeting with managers and get a good grasp of what they do and understand if that fits what you want, then go for interview. The interview as such is not going to be too difficult. All the best.
AWS is tough but doable for some time. LC and grokking the system design interview. Good luck
Put aside any insecurities you have about bootcamp and no education, they teach you very little about being a good employee. If you work standard hours and actually work you’ll be fine at amazon.
