Anyone have any info on systems engineering at Salesforce? Skills needed? TC align with SWE? I’m looking at a SMTS or LMTS role in systems engineering here. Curious about systems engineering vs site reliability vs back-end SWE. These all seem to be different roles with similar descriptions. I enjoy backend work, especially in Linux. Have done a lot of this in the past. Currently in solutions engineering (technical presales). Really trying to break past the 200k mark without having to grind LC. Have enough on my plate right now. Well it’s system engineer which is equivalent to SRE/DevOps. That’s what I read through JD.
I Might have seen a different role then
SRE and SE are similar . Nowadays it’s devops. Should have strong programming background (python or GO) , aws / GCP & systems engineer experience. Backend SWE is 100% tooling . Not sure whether TC align with SWE but it’s based on GEO locations. Are you currently working at solutions engineering in Salesforce?
Thanks for the info. Yes I am.
SRE , SE & backend SWE are all under TMP . most likely OOMing won’t change TC.
if you go into SE Mgmt, you can get your TC up past 300k much quicker imho
Do they promote easily, have you seen anyone?
fair - is that what you do?
They reach out to me for the same position, following
