T-Mobile Store Manager, looking for something else.

I was just wondering what recommendation you all might have for someone who has been a store manager for 7+ years and now is ready to move on into something else. Got a bunch of sales, business development management and loyalty experience. Pretty much carried the houston market through the Sprint Merger for the frontline employees. Any recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Good luck. I had TMobile on my resume and I couldn't get a serious interview. Unfortunately people see T-Mobile and automatically assume you don't have any real management or sales experience. Especially coming from the retail/consumer space. I changed the company on my resume to Deutsch Telecom and I got way more serious hits.

What are you doing now?

I'm a sr. account executive at VMware. I had to swallow my pride and get a few entry level sales gigs before I could move up.

Look at account manager or trainer roles in tech. Also make sure to include numbers on your resume. I never worked in cellular industry but I did work my way from spa management to Product. Point of sale companies may be another good stepping stone depending on where you want to end up. Good luck out there!

Try applying for account executive, customer success manager roles

I agree with most of the posts on here to look for business development, account executive, customer success, and account manager positions. I am not sure what other experience you have or if you have any degrees or certifications. If you go to look for any of these positions, you can find them at literally any company. So, it really comes down to what industry you would like to work in.

Btw... Store managers at T-Mobile are extremely underpaid. Make sure you don't disclose your true TC. It will lock out out of a lot of jobs right away.
