Today T-Mobile laid off 5000 employees and mostly remotely working people got impacted. Another 7000 including contractors will be laid off in next few months. https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/24/tech/tmobile-layoffs-5000-employees/index.html https://esd.wa.gov/about-employees/WARN https://www.thelayoff.com/t-mobile-us?sort=active https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1283699/000119312523219679/d507613dex991.htm #telecom #layoff #tech #telecom #layoff #tech

What were the top locations people were working from?
Seattle, KC, Dallas
Sorry to everyone affected. Sadly, this seems like another RTO effort by T-Mobile and isn’t indicative of whether or not remote workers are more likely be targeted by layoffs. With that being said, I hope everyone moves onto remote jobs and other companies that aren’t laying off at the moment. TC: 105K
Our meetings with leadership said it was to save money… but it’s probably both
Sad. What percentage of them belong to tech?
Where did you get the info that it's remote workers? I don't see that on anything.
No indication it’s remote employee focused although it’s not surprising
Our remote coworkers were not impacted.
All of the remote workers on my team were laid off
I don’t think all 5k were laid off today but 5k will be laid off over the next 5 weeks. Also it’s not a remote workforce layoff
Where'd you get the info on 7k next? Haven't even heard that as a rumor (yet).
