T mobile offer RSUs?

Recruiter sent me offer letter this morning. Over phone they verbally said 30k RSUs total over 3 years, but the offer letter itself is somewhat vague and can be interpreted as 10k / 3 years. I emailed them back to clarify, I only have 48 hrs to accept the offer, what gives? I'm happy with the numbers on everything else ... #offer #compensation

Can you share the offer details, location and your YOE?

Boeing aemg1337 OP Sep 13, 2020

Software engineer, 3 YOE 130k base, 15% annual bonus - rsu I'm trying to figure out if it's 30k or 10k, my recruiter said 30k verbally over phone but the wording in the letter isn't clear

It’s definitely 10K/ 3 years. T-Mobile very bad at RSUs. You can probably negotiate a bit to probably get to 12K

Chevron >:-) Sep 13, 2020

It’s 10k annually, and it takes a 3 years to vest each

What’s the exact wording in the letter?

Boeing aemg1337 OP Sep 13, 2020

Exact wording is as follows:   Stock compensation is an important component of our total rewards package. You may be eligible to receive a stock award with an economic value of $10,000 under the Company’s 2013 Omnibus Incentive Plan in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). *Note: Should you receive an award, the economic value will be based on your role as of January 31 (prior to the grant date) and is subject to change. Your eligibility for the RSUs is subject to Company approval and the applicable terms and conditions of the grant. The grant date for your RSUs is expected to be February 25 (if you are employed by January 31). The RSUs will vest in equal installments over a period of 3-Years beginning on the first anniversary of the date of grant assuming you remain employed upon the vesting dates. All equity awards, including RSUs, are subject to the terms and conditions of the grant agreement.

That’s 10k/3y

T-Mobile ElTigre Sep 13, 2020

For level 8 / manager it's $10k per year that vests over 3 years. 1/3 will vest each year, so by year 3 you'll get 10k total, a third of the $30k that has been granted over the last 3 years (assuming no change in stock price). Ex: $10k grant in Feb '21 will vest $3,333 in Feb '22, $3,333 in Feb '23, and $3,334 in Feb '24. Each February you'll get another $10k, with the first third vesting the following year.

Boeing aemg1337 OP Sep 13, 2020

So my recruiter was wrong with 30k total he stated verbally? He said 10k/year for my offer

T-Mobile ElTigre Sep 13, 2020

$10k/yr is correct, but with vesting schedule you'll get $3,333 after 1 year and $6,666 the 2nd year, and will cap at $10k starting in year 3 (at which point you will have been granted $30k).

FLYR aNmu82 Sep 13, 2020

From wording on your offer it sounds like it’s 10k vested over 3 years ie. 3.3k a year. I’d reach out to Recruiter for clarification
