OSIsoft/Aveva New Grad
I currently have an offer from OSIsoft. The salary seems to be pretty good for the area. I’ve been doing some research about the Aveva acquisition and it seems like some of the OSIsoft employees have some harsh opinions on it. My offer was decent, and I am planning on accepting as of now. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on someone wanting to start a career at OSIsoft/Aveva? Should I keep applying elsewhere? #osisoft #aveva
If you have some other offer take that. This place will suck the soul out of you under the guise of great wlb.
What is the offer and state? I’ll tell you right now if the offer is bad. I am from AVEVA, US. Not part of osisoft.
If you’re not comfortable you can DM. But my 2 cents is to not stay here more than 2 years. Get a minimum of a year and start looking elsewhere. The salaries, at least from a purely AVEVA side (no osisoft), are terrible. For reference for hired as SWE in 2018 for 65k a year in Orange County. That’s why I’m curious on what they’re offering you. Salaries are an extreme mystery here. If they’re offering what osisoft was offering before it got acquired then you probably did get something decent. Either way, it’s a very chill place but if you want career growth I don’t recommend staying here, you’ll get be underpaid. It takes forever to promote because nobody leaves since it’s so chill
