Has anyone used it? How is the speed you get in central America? I am looking for a few weeks trip from Mexico to Costa Rica and I am pondering data options. Did you use any other carrier? Thanks
Canada and Mexico is included even calling, I've used it, it's good, data is slow in Mexico, but overall good
I heard friends use Fi when traveling to nonUS places. You might want to take a look.
It piggybacks on the local networks. So if they have 4g, you get 4g.
But the speed is throttled.
Used it in Russia, Czech Republic, and Finland. Data was fast in major cities, slow or not available in some remote areas.
Used in canada, all over europe and part of middle east. Speed wasn't steller, but got job done. Gave peace of mind in travel.
Yeah my speed wasn't good enough to stream quality video, but more than enough to navigate public transit, etc.
I use Google Hangouts to make US phone calls using T-Mobile's free data/wifi with my number for free when traveling abroad. Data and text are free anyway. Wonder if there's a hack for free calls to numbers local to the place where you travel with your T-Mobile number
If you use VoIP dialers like Rebtel, it isn't free, but quite cheap.
Yes.. google Project Fi is very good.. covers around 100 countries
Have used tmo in about 15 countries. Pretty pleased with t, faster than advertised in most places. Haven't tried fi.
