What is TN visa

Capital One DickFairB Jan 10, 2021

Special visa for Canadians and Mexicans. For Canadians it is an extremely easy and straightforward alternative to the H1-B. No caps. No min wage. Can be part time. But restricted to the occupations defined in the USMCA. $50 and some supporting documents is all you need. You can get a Green Card on it too if you time it right.

Do a pre approval instead of this

Is the border even open? It doesn't matter. You'd have to go through us customs and declare your tn.

Yes air border is open

Don’t cross without it being preapproved. You would be taking an unnecessary risk.

With the recent development in the US, I am booking my flight to Canada, and applying for my TN Visa to work in Canada. America is like a powder keg waiting to explode.

Are you sticking with Amazon? Are they giving you USD comparable salary?

Amazon Bello674 Jan 10, 2021

Ensure that your TN is has pre approved I-797 as its too risky to have a denial at the airport border.... any rejections (ever) have to be disclosed on all future visa applications globally so best to avoid this.

Damn. Im not pre-approved. Apparently to get pre-approved you have to mail in your application and it gets more scrutiny when mailed in, if you process it on the spot when crossing a border the officers are more lenient (this is all according to a SF based immigration law firm my firm hired). My application is very strong, but still there is always a risk. Who got pre-approved here? Any one get rejected?

Amazon Bello674 Jan 10, 2021

If your application is strong then get it pre-approved so you have zero border risk. More work for your lawyer but less risk for you. If you get bounced at the border, its not your lawyer who has to handle this on every future visa application ever. With premium processing it can be turned around in 15 days.

I was under the impression that if you get rejected for a pre-approval it will show up in your records and you get scrutinized as much as if you get rejected at the border. Thats what the lawyers were implying. You dont think this is the case?

If you live in GTA, go to buffalo land border. You won't need to book ticket or anything. Lovely nice officers will help you. I also tried Pearson cbp. Again nice officers. Takes 1 hour.

Amazon yVyi64 Jan 12, 2021

Can you go right back to GTA after getting visa at the land border? Does Pearson mean flying to US?

QuEST Global dLsD11 Jan 13, 2021

You can just come back to Canada or visit buffalo if you want. Pearson has airport cbp office. But you have to buy ticket to go on that area so not good if you want to plan ahead

If you're white they probably won't even ask a single question.
