Since trump is pausing immigration and work visa, will TN-1 visa (canada to us) be impacted? I have read that TN is a special non immigration visa under NAFTA. Thanks
Will be unlikely as it is governed by treaty rather than solely US policy. A blanket ban on TN would be violation of USMCA. It can cause more border guards to have power trips at the border though so if you get TN I'd do it through uscis rather than deal with the border assholes.
Who knows? It’s wartime and anything is possible. Canada bans all entries of foreigner as well, but it’s temporary hopefully it goes away soon.
If you are on TN strongly recommend you to get GC soon it’s fairly quick process unless you are from India or China. TN is meant to be temporary anyways.
Gc as in government of canada? I think for TN, you have to get it at the airport at the time of the flight
US green card. Start the process early if you want to stay in US medium to long term.
If you go TN->GC there will be a period you cannot leave the country. Via h1b is much safer because it allows dual intent and it’s the proper way of doing it, but you need to win h1b lottery first.
