Everytime TN Visa holders cross the land border do they get code "B2" in their I-94 or do they get as TN?
So is it normal if a Canadian TN holder who crosses the land border and shows his TN Visa, gets B2 in his I-94?
if you’re asking about the online i94 website showing B2 as class of admission when in fact you have TN, then it’s wrong and the officer admitting you made a mistake. i had a similar problem before and to fix this you have to either 1) leave the country and come back from port of entry 2) go to deferred inspection (https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2017-Jun/deferred_inspection_sites_060817.pdf) and fix it
So about #1, the original port of entry when got the TN Visa was via Air but then Everytime passing land borders even though I show that I have TN they enter B2 in I-94. So should I go back to air again? #2) could you elaborate on this based on your experience? How does it work?
TN and the officer might ask for the offer letter every time you enter the country.
What's should be said to the officer other than showing the TN Visa in passport to ensure I get an I-94 with TN status?
You probably don't have a TN visa. You have a TN admission stamp and an I-94 card. You show the I-94 card and you tell the officer you want to be readmitted in TN status. Or you show your offer letter and other supporting documentation and say you want a new I-94 (when changing employers or extending your TN).
