TT transfer people from overseas to fill US roles?
Heard the rumor that Tiktok transfer people from overseas to fill the positions in US. Is it true? Heard that they moved a lot of people to US on L1 visa. So many people in tech impacted by layoffs and TT still can’t find US candidates to fill the positions? I am shocked.
I thought you are talking about Microsoft. Microsoft shipped tons of L1 from India all the time.
Yep When millions Indians are shipped to US on L1/H1, its fine to Blind users But when a couple hundreds of Chinese are shipped to US by one company Tiktok, Blinder users are mad Why 😂

TC being so much lower generally in EU / APAC probably a big factor here. Could give Europe people a 30% increase to relocate and it still wouldn’t be close to what local US candidates are demanding
I first came with L-1. you can’t do that. It’s the same with H1B you have to give similar competitive wage as American who would do the same job. Have to go through perm as well.
The bands are so wide at TikTok that they can bend this rule pretty easily

“Those Indians stole our tech jobs!” This is the only thing became out of control. H1/L1 were created initially to fill the talent gap. However, they found the loophole and shipped millions of them every year
They probably have issues with retention of talent considering how toxic the environment is, whereas everyone on L1 will be super docile
