Which company has the better brand value in terms of career growth? In terms of switching companies and everything. Any details are appreciated. Also any information of how the acquisition by Salesforce has affected Tableau. TC: 0 YoE: 0 (New Grad - Master's) #tech
If tableau is offering salesforce new grad TC then that’s a really good deal
May I know what's Salesforce offer for New Grads?

Tableau is cool
Team is much more important than company. Find a great senior team to learn from. Don’t worry about comp at this point.
I would pick between Tableau and Adobe because these are true product companies. Here’s what I’d suggest: First criteria, choose the role that allows you to write code that gets shipped and has external users vs. internal users Second, choose the one that allows you to work on something you find challenging where you are not 100% confident and feel you’d need to learn. Third, for each of these roles, stalk the team members on LinkedIn. Are they smarter than you? Have they worked on interesting projects/products? Do they come from strong academic/professional backgrounds? You want to be working with a diverse group of people you can learn from, be inspired by, look up to and probably find a mentor in. Hope this helps.
This is really helpful. Thank you so much!
I like tableau lol
Credit karma is getting the intu rocket ship treatment, but Adobe is the most likely to introduce a new product category.
So what would be your pick? CK or Adobe?
CK is still producing quite a bit of new product work, especially if you end up on the Money team (savings/checking products). And it’s smaller (~850 in engineering) so you can potentially learn more. And INTU stock is doing great!!
Tableau is an awesome company with a great product, but the culture here is slowly being subsumed by Salesforce culture, and that’s not a good thing. I can’t speak to the other companies.
Is the learning environment still good considering I'm a New Grad? To be honest I don't have anything to compare the culture with so really confused about where to go. It's all coming down to where I would have a good learning curve
There are lots of learning opportunities, depending on the team. We have a lot of tech debt, but use a lot of different interesting technologies -- C++, C#, Java, TypeScript, Python, and a ton of products for managing build artifacts and tools. I have 20+ YoE in computing industry and I'm still learning at Tableau. You can, of course, choose to silo yourself and not learn anything, but if you're willing to put in the effort you can learn a lot. Every day it seems I learn something on Slack, as there's a lot of really bright people that are also very helpful and humble. It's a great collaborative environment. The ratio of great people to douches is right where it needs to be to be a good place to work.
What? Do people really prefer Adobe? TF
The people don’t know
That's what the poll says 😅. It would be great if I could get your opinions since you work at Tableau. And how Tableau would be better than Adobe. Thank you🙂
Adobe is bigger, and benefits and culture are amazing: that’s why you likely get more Adobe. Plus overall reviews are Adobe. Of course your manager/team can make our break any job. But Adobe as a company is top notch. No knock on tableau, I don’t know anyone who works there. Love their tools, though.
