Have 10 yoe, most of it as pm at MSFT. Current Tc at msft is about 195k, level 63. promo to 64 soon, before year end review. Fb offering ic4 tpm role with TC at 210k, does not include 25k sign on bonus for year 1. They said this is the best they can do. Gut feeling says TC difference is not enough to warrant a change. Upcoming promo should exceed my Tc beyond fb offer. Quality of work is similar to me at both places with recruiter at fb promising a faster career growth than ms. Sounds like a sales pitch than reality. Thoughts? Edit: this role is in seattle.
Not worth it.
Stay MSFT !
Stay at msft
Stay msft
You know TPM = glorified project manager. If you like the PM work at Microsoft stay there. Aim for product manager roles and not TPM
TPM role can be great at other companies but I haven’t heard good things about that role at FB. But having FB on your resume could help if you want to move to Google later.
Assume this is Seattle? If fb Bay Area don’t do it unless you love it there
Why would you recommend this?
Are you taking into account food perks refreshers and other benefits? It wont be 210k - i would take fb in a heartbeat if i had that option. You will get more recruiter exposure coming from fb based on seattle friends experience too. Tangible difference in prestige
The resume thing is the difference maker. But then why not wait a year and get an ic5 position instead?
Comp aside which role is more interesting and has a more enjoyable team? That's always my deciding factor.
I am considering this to remain the same

’Promising a faster career growth’ lol why do you believe someone who isn’t a pm or engineer?
It doesn’t sound like he believes it
