Got good offers from both. Stripe L3 vs Tanium (blanket Sr SWE), both remote. Stripe's TC is greater, but 50% is RSU, Tanium is lower, but much more liquid. Everything I've seen from both companies looks great. I generally want to learn more about large scale systems. Learning-wise, I wonder if Tanium would be better given the smaller size and their tech stack vs Stripe being larger and mostly using Ruby (I think?). Thoughts? TC: 175k
Can you share the TC details for Stripe? It’ll help others in future
I generally don't feel comfortable sharing companies offers, as that's supposed to be confidential, but both Tanium and Stripe offers are exactly in line with what you'd find in levels/glassdoor.
In that case gtfo. This is Blind, its the purpose .
Stripe! Tanium is political inside
What's your yoe?
~8
In my opinion, both much better than the avg leetcode Faang style process. Stripe was very practical, bug fixing, feature implementation and some system design. Tanium a mix of behavior/experience and some lighter algorithm type coding
If you’re living in a lower COL area, did either company adjust your offer total because of it?
Tanium is so political. Run.
It’s gotten SO political in the last year. I don’t know what happened. It wasn’t always like this.
What do you mean by political
OP who did you end up going for? If it’s stripe would love a referral hahahaha
sANx51, I'm expecting an offer this week in Customer Success organization. Are you not happy there? What's the vibe in the company outside of engineering?
Mind sharing your offer details ?
Stripe for sure, no question about it. Stripe RSU is essentially guaranteed to be liquid, and reputation/learning will be superior for sure.
