What's the bar for getting an entry position at target? No degree but have experience + decent side projects. Good at leetcode, can study for OOP/System design. Tips?
I was asked to do a take home. Then live coding. I did them decently then got rejected. Most embarrassing rejection I have had yet. I got (obviously better) offers for worse performance.
You’re on the right track. Leetcode easy problems should be ok. Few interviewers at Target ask leetcode style problems but when they do they’re often the easy ones. They love OOP/System design problems so study that e.g design a shopping cart Learn the language/framework of the job you’re going in for. They’ll probably give u an assignment and expect it to be done with that stack. Probably react or spring depending on your case
How’s the work like? Company culture? Trying to figure out if I should apply
No longer at Target. The WLB is great, there’s some interesting/innovative work going on in some teams which many don’t know and as for the culture it’s the classic corporate politics but not as bad as some other companies in the Midwest. Overall target is one of the better companies in Minnesota. Go for it
They dont do leetcode.
