My wife received a check related to the class action lawsuit settlement. She is also thinking that there was a tax document that came with it. We cannot find it anywhere now. So how should we report that amount on our tax return? Is anybody else facing the sane issue? Edit: Now I am sure that there was a W2. I am just exploring what my options are if we cannot find it.
It’s not reported but can double check. You report that Check as additional supplemental income and add to your final taxable income
So did you receive a separate W2?
Do you who sent the W2? We can contact them and ask if they can resend it.
You should have received a separate W-2 or a 1099 document.
Ya... I think our best bet is to ask our friends who have received same amount of credit.
Was the class action wage related? If not, it may not be taxable
It was wage related.

Companies that pay as much as meta
I think it might just be included in your W-2
Probably that is the tax document that we can’t find 😐
