Just converted from f1 to h1 and my tax deduction increased from 26% to 32%. Is it expected ??

Yup SSN and Medicare tax is what's different.
SSN is a ripoff. Why H1B should contribute to it when they are not permanent residents?
Itβs counted as you are not on a temporary visa. Secondly once you complete paying 10 years SSN, you are entitled to get retirement benefit even if you are not a citizen or even resident
