Taxes for expats / retiring in India

Age 31 No wife/kids NW: 13.7M USD (acquisition + stock growth) I am a US citizen (Indian by origin) . I went to Ooty in 2019, and really liked it there. I want to live there for the next 5-10 years. Any expats here know what tax implications would be for someone like me? 100% of my income would be from dividends . I plan to sell my real estate before I make the move. Would I have to pay taxes in India as well as USA ? I’ll speak with a tax advisor too, but I figured i’d first check on Blind. It will help me ask him/her better questions. Thank you!

All of the dividend/interest/capital gains will be subject to US taxation. No idea about Indian taxes

First two years of you return to India as Indian citizen you repatriate tax free due to RNOR status. But not sure since you are us citizen. But congrats on the achievement. That’s something I would have loved to be able to do

Acquisition? What was your position in that company? Ooty is best. You can go to major city in few hours if needed.
