I recently got an offer from Charles schwab and they promised to initiate my GC after 1 year completion of service. Will they initiate after one year or do they say like "since my max out is 2025 let's wait since we are working on priority cases"
So you mean even companies like Amazon also wait till your max out time ??? Or they do it on day 1?
It’s fully at the manager’s discretion, they need to get budget approval from org director and all that
Recently received offer tried hard getting gc initiated on day 1 but recruiter told me that they will process after 6 month’s that is the company policy, not sure why they mentioned one year for you
What’s your offered role, location and TCat Schwab?
Any update?
I was told six months as well, though no mention of it in the offer letter. I hope they do honor.
Yes, they mentioned verbally not in written, does anyone know this?
I would try to get it in writing - Schwab is slow and it may be someone else who says “oh, I didn’t know about that promise” and then you would be stuck.
They will do it as soon as it is legally possible. Many leaders at Schwab are on GC/Visa/h1 and they know the stress. As soon as it is possible to start the process they will. Let me put it to you this way, it will not be Schwab that delays the process, it will be the external entities that handle the cases. Schwab will get it going the day it is eligible. In the cases that I've done this for my reports we had to wait 6 months to start. The manager will want to help you.
If it’s not in writing it’s worth nothing
This is what I have learnt in 2 years at Amazon
