Started job hunting because my job wasn't enjoyable anymore + 12 hour days. Got an offer from a promising company. Was recently informed the contract causing the 12+ hour days is ending. What to do now? New company: - 22 people after 4 years - $150k + 3% equity - everyone seems very nice, open, and relaxed - "work-life harmony" - I'll be one of the first members (#8) of a new business unit - Strong engineering leadership - Potential to work on a product in the next year - I've only seen the image they present of themselves in the interview Current company: - 10 people after 4 years - $140k + profit sharing - Opportunity to gain experience managing engineers - Strong Big 4 leadership (e.g. Accenture, Deloitte) - I'm an early employee (#2) and run a LoB, so there's potential for growth into leadership as the company grows - Very intense, expectations are high - Probably another 2 years before we spin off a product I'd appreciate any advice, especially from people who have led or worked at small, non vc consulting companies. 4 YoE, east coast USA
