Tech company or Business company?

So, want to continue to pursue a career in data science, analytics, ML etc. but y’all keep saying that staying at a non-tech company will kill my career. What if I like solving business problems of big corps and inventing products of value? But I also don’t wanna be the clean-up guy doing meaningless work if analytics and data science aren’t prioritized :) yes, I realize this has to do with the type of company. Don’t want the stress and work-life imbalance big tech. Hit me with the truth

Your experience is still valuable to non-tech companies. If you never plan to work in tech, i dont see an issue with it. Like you said, tech has its tradeoffs. It’d be increasingly difficult to switch into tech the longer you work in other industries though, but tech to non tech is fairly easy
