I have been in this industry before Elon was hot shot and while Zuckerberg was still in college and GMAIL was invitation only. Point? A lot of money was put into unicorn startups, companies who came up with fantasy ideas but with no near term profitability and we can name many; Uber, Doordash, Lyft, Rivian, etc. Investors are now realising their mistake, putting cash into companies that will never be profitable and now they want their money back. Bigger companies that are somewhat profitable but still a joke realised that Big ideas are okay at times, but by their very unscheduled and low profit essence, they should never stake an entire company on their success or failure. So big ideas are getting cancelled and hence layoffs. The future of Tech will be what it was during Semiconductor days; meaning low paycheck for engineers, less startups unless they have a good profitable business plan that attracts investors and less amateurs in the industry. Thank me for it later #tech #uber #facebook #google #amazon
Bullshit. I'm never taking a low paycheck
I respectfully disagree
Why tagged Uber google n fb ?
Go to bed!
What about the startups that are doing great in this economy and are hiring?
Examples?
Pretty much any start up hiring now, you can check few on breakout list
I agree! Salaries being offered never made sense for the skills that can be acquired in a year
As if life without ride share, food delivery, social media, e-commerce, streaming services is even a remote possibility. For real! Go back to bed bruh. This is capitalism and we’re at the end of a cycle and at the beginning of a new one. Of course zombie companies are gonna get whipped out, but that’s a good healthy thing to happen.
Curious what’s the next cycle?
Ok boomer.
Go outside
