The Tale of Tekion: A Not-So-Happy Workplace Adventure Once upon a time in the world of tech, there was a company called Tekion. It sounded like a cool place, promising big hikes in salary β sometimes as much as 200%! Imagine that, getting more money for your hard work! But, like any adventure, there was more to the story. 1. The Sneaky Stock Options Game Tekion also had something called stock options, like a bonus for working hard. But here's the tricky part β these stocks didn't really belong to you unless you played a game with the bosses. They wanted everyone to exercise the stock options, which is like turning them into real money. But here's the catch: not everyone got a fair chance. It seemed like only a few lucky people who knew how to play the office game got the good stuff. And if you left the company, they made you buy the stocks within three months, or they'd disappear. Talk about a tricky game! 2. The Family Connection Mystery Now, here's where things got really interesting. Inside Tekion, it felt like being part of a big family β but not everyone was invited to the family party. If you were related to someone important in the company, work seemed like a piece of cake. But if you didn't have any family connections, uh-oh! You might end up working super long hours, even at night. The bosses were a bit scary, saying if you didn't work 16 hours a day, your pay raise could be in trouble. And they might put you on something called a PIP, which is like a warning, and you might have to leave without getting any extra money. Sounds tough, right? 3. Cultural Clash in the US Office Over in the US office, there were some problems too. It seemed like the bosses didn't always respect the people who lived there. They even let go of 200 hardworking folks, and there were stories of people getting hired and fired really quickly. It was like a big cultural puzzle that didn't fit together very well. 4. Focus on Chennai: The Snack Check Tekion's founders really liked their hometown in Chennai, India. They did good things, like giving money to charities and getting famous. But there was a twist. They liked to hire lots of people there, even if the quality of work wasn't the best. It was kind of like they were building a big Tekion family in Chennai. 5. Bangalore Drama and Instagram Stories In another office in Bangalore, there was a lot of office politics and not-so-great management. Some people even heard about someone being mean during job interviews, and nothing happened when it was reported. . And imagine this β they watched what people ate during snack breaks! If someone took a little extra, they got embarrassed in front of everyone. Not very nice, huh? oh, Tekion loved Instagram! They posted videos showing how happy everyone was, even though some of the support team was shooting reels instead of helping employees in issues. 6. PIP Troubles and Noob Leaders Working at Tekion meant not having much of a personal life. Some people felt like they were robots β working, eating, and sleeping with no time for themselves. If the bosses thought you were working hard but not making friends with them, they might put you on a PIP and tell you to leave. The leaders, like VPs and Directors, seemed a bit like beginners. They got their jobs because they knew the founders from a long time ago, not because they were really good at their jobs. 7. Final Thoughts: Finding a Happier Place So, here's the ending β there are many other great companies out there. Tekion might seem exciting, but it has its challenges. Other companies have a more friendly atmosphere where everyone helps each other succeed. Tekion might not be the best fit for non relative employees. It's important to have a good work-life balance and be happy, so maybe consider other places where people work together like a team. Closing Words Now, some might think this story is just someone being mad at Tekion, but it's more like a heads-up for anyone thinking about joining the company. If you're brave enough to work there for a year, maybe come back and share your thoughts. And to all the Tekion employees reading this, don't get upset β it's just telling it like it is. Everyone deserves to be happy at work, so choose wisely and find a place that feels like the perfect fit for you. #tekion #culture #chooseahappylife
I can assure that he is one of the relative of management.
Bad company
What a story kudos to author, want to add one more point that wfh facility is only for relatives and known of management. Their is a instance I heard that for maternity leave, employee was asked to resign. π¨π¨π¨π¨π¨π¨π¨π¨π¨π¨
Yes, this is very famous case of tekion. Female employee was crying in front of other to seek help but no one wanted to oppose the management as their job can come on radar.
I know that manager, he is a piece of shit. Naam expose karke nanga karu use yaha ??
Do not talk about morality of management at tekion they have sold everything. This can be understood by their ask of resign from a female employee for asking a maternity leave. Better to call them motherfuckers as they try to fuck a female who is going to become Mother.
Same issues in DRP what the fuck is happening
It was a big mistake to join this company, but I am a fresher so I'm trying to accumulate some experience and get out of here. There is really no work life balance, I have to work on Holidays as well and the manager doesn't seem to care about time bounds. TLDR; Trying to actively get out of this shit hole
Well said. The politics here is too much. Only people from a particular group will receive promotions, hike and stocks. For others, its budget issue. This is a hyper growth company for boot lickers. For others, find growth somewhere else.
Could u pls summarise in 50 words?
If its Chennai then it's a gone case π€―
