What's it like to intern/work at Tesla? Is the work interesting and do people usually learn a lot from their time there? I just got an offer from Tesla for the spring but I'm a little hesitant on accepting it. TIA!

I heard lots of shit is taped together. The high employee turnover (avg tenure < 1 year) leads to broken pipelines and information gaps. Employees have the mentality that they're not going to work at Tesla long term (will jump ship as soon as stock vests) so people end up making suboptimal project decisions.
For interns, you're probably hourly and have to work overtime or double-time (80+ hr/week) to achieve comparable market intern salaries. I recall my software friends making like $15-20/hr. Standard work hours at the Deer Creek office are 8/8:30am to at least 6/7pm. Meals are not free.
