Tesla Layoffs - Offer accepted
Recently accepted an offer with Tesla for P3- engineer. Heard from other engineers on the team I’m joining, a lot of people were laid off. Have not heard back from recruiter or manager with any updates(confirmed recruiter not laid off..) Don’t want to ask recruiter about my status and draw attention to myself. What else can I do apart from finding another job? Do people with pending joining dates get their offers revoked? Anyone else going through this? Joining date in the next month #tech #tesla

I joined Meta during the layoffs and I’ll suggest you to reach out to your recruiter and double check what’s the latest status. As for whether you should still join Tesla or not is a different question.
How has Meta been for you?
Not bad. I worked at other shit tier companies and FAANGs before so I would say Meta has its own good and bad. But let’s just say, I am the type that goes to work, delivers what’s been asked and then go home at the end of the day. I don’t care if I am promoted or not or someone stole the scope or not, etc. As long as I am getting good reviews and 💰 I am fine. So far it’s working out well for me!

Similar situation but still under the background check now. My HM told me that the offers that have been approved are still good to go. They will keep me updated if there is any changes. I would suggest you reaching out to your recruiter and HM. Hope for the best.

You can lawyer up. If you accepted your offer and you get laid off then there’s a law that lets you get some compensation. Has to be based on the loses that were had because they did not follow through with the offer. Like if you turned down another job offer for this one. If you moved or were planning to move and made big life decisions around the offer. You can get some compensation
I had a verbal agreement on the total compensation with the recruiter for a P4 position in Nevada Gigafactory last week but did not receive the official offer (submitted evidence of excellence). Unfortunately, the recruiter responded today that they have no clue at this point on this position but it is frozen at this point. The position is also removed from Tesla career website.
The recruiter’s KPIs are to get people in seats. Email them and ask if there’s a hiring pause due to layoffs.
