Hi everyone, Been scouring this forum and all the other pay average websites out there for this role and location , but there does not seem to be much data, so hoping for your help because I think Austin pay scale is underrated considering the explosive increase in CoL lately. (Sorry for the run on sentence) Initial Offer : P2 Manufacturing Engineer 85k base 60k/4yr RSU Daily commute will be 45min one way. Current TC: $96k base, no RSU Working remote 3 YOE
Wow super low ball, Tesla is known for being cheap. Remember <100k is below poverty level in Bay Area. Ask minimum base $110k-$120k and stocks $100k/4 year else reject the offer
I asked for 100 base 80/4 RSU. This is a position based in Austin, TX. I already am here so no relocation (but I do have to pay back relo at my current employer since I have not been here that long).
What did they counter with?
Update?
No update yet (~10am central)
Any updates?
Why downgrade?
I currently get only designing experience and this role would give me the chance to use my designing experience + installation and commissioning experience.
Besides, The pay is only 30% of my decision making, 40% is growth potential and I think it is in this category where Tesla outranks my current employer (besides the fact that I’m in general materials handling and Tesla is manufacturing), the last 30% is the team and it’s a wash here. Have a respected ex-insider give the thumbs up for the potential further team and I would give a thumbs up for the current team I’m with.
