I drive a sedan now and I am expecting a baby this year. I foresee that I have to upgrade to a mid-size SUV in 2 years. With the model Y announced, I am really getting interested to reserve it. I want the 7 seater option in the SUV too. But I have these questions holding me back - 1. I haven't seen the car in person yet. Should I wait till they have a display model? 2. 7 seater option is planned for 2021. Assuming Tesla delivers on time and I expect to be far back in the line already so I expect to get delivery around end of 2021. Is that a reliable time frame to wait for my next car? 3. If I wait say 6 months to reserve it, that may push my delivery date into 2022 which i want to avoid too as there seems to be a huge demand for this model. Please talk me into or out of reserving it now 😊 or if you feel i can look at some other exciting vehicles in that price range for my time frame.
A sedan is perfectly fine for kids. You don't need a third row SUV for a baby.
Your kid will graduate high school before you get that model Y🤐
It's no brainer to wait and go with model Y. My biggest complaint about bigger cars is gas mileage and the gas bill. Sometimes kids want to just drive around and have fun, I can feel the gas pinch when I do it which means I try to avoid driving it just for fun. Model Y is definitely going to be market this year much earlier than original Tesla plan. Driving experience would be much much more better n joyful. Do the math for gas cost savings. You will introduce your kid to the best car on the planet that is helping the environment. Also investment wise, why would you pour money into gas sucking cars which depreciate as soon as it hits the road n very quickly once model Ys are on the road.
7-seater Model Y is a scam. No way you will fit 7 in there comfortably.
Model Y might be a good option! Go Tesla all the way! Just got mine before Christmas and is easily the best car I’ve ever had. Coming from Audi, Lexus, etc...
All electric cars are great until you have to wait in a 1 mile queue at the recharge stations
Tesla interiors are low quality. That doesn’t compare to real luxury brands
My 3s interior is a huge step forward from all the “luxury” bmws I’ve owned over more than a decade.
As far as interior goes it’s a matter of personal taste. Model 3 pleases people with eye for the future and futuristic things. Where as traditional manufacturers pleases people who would like to remain the same.
I disagree. Just speaking about material quality and not styling, Tesla has a long way to go.
Buy a model 3, and a 3 row suv. Such as pilot highlander telluride. Former as the daily beater. The ladder is the wife’s car that will serve as a road trip mobile
My current car is a 2010 Toyota that I plan to drive till the wheels fall off (its worth just 6k in kbb)... What you recommend is lucrative but I have budget to buy only 1 car 🙂... The highlander hybrid is on my shortlist till model Y was announced and messed up my thinking
I have a 2010 Japanese car as my daily driver. Model 3 will replace it soon to help with my lengthen commute. 18-19mpg on a pilot ain’t bad given how many people are being transported all the time
