I’ve an offer from Tesla for an entry level position in Supply Chain. What should be the base salary given that I also have a 3.5 yrs of work ex (in Industrial Engineering and Supply Chain positions)? I was offered 95k$ but I think it is low compared to Fremont expenses. Update: After negotiations, base was increased to 104k with 50k equity over 4 yrs. Feel low-balled though 😅
There is always room for negotiation. Try to get it up to $105k by countering at $110k
Is the TC 95 or base pay?
Base pay is 95
For GSA, the max base too will get is $110 and max equity you can ask is $50k
Even with more YOE?
Yes, that’s the max for that role GSA. If you have more exp, ask for GSM. GSM base can go upto $135 and equity can go upto $150
Do you have relevant automotive experience? I’m trying to join Tesla from a BD in a electronic manufacturing company. We have clients like T. Do you know if T has GSA/GSM sites in Austin?
No to automotive experience Yes to relevant Supply Chain experience Austin also has GSA/GSM positions open
That’s awesome, good to know! I have prior experience in SC for 1.5 years and moved into BD role for a year to work with clients (GSM) but wanted to get back in the SC game.
Used to be on Tesla’s indirect procurement team as a global supply admin (did work of an analyst though but because it’s Tesla, it was so hard to get promoted) and made $28/hour, $15k RSUS over 4 years 😂. I know it’s a lower position but I hope it makes you feel better!
Sounds about right
